Case Dismissed for Veteran Charged with Firearm on the Premises

Jun 17 2019, by Jessica McElfresh in Case Results, Criminal Defense, Felony, Weapons Crimes

After leaving the VA hospital, a veteran with a concealed carry license was in the parking lot, where he took his firearm out of his vehicle to put it back on. Security heard that someone was arming themselves in the parking lot and confiscated his firearm, charging him with having a firearm on the premises.

Understanding the full scope of his situation, San Diego weapons attorney Jessica McElfresh asserted his rights and negotiated for the veteran, securing a dismissal based on equity and the stipulation that the man will complete 10 hours of volunteer work.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
